Perspective: Quick Strike.

It's been a couple years since I got my revenge on Azure Thief.  I'm still on the run, living in my shack in the Everfree Forest.  No pony in their right mind would come here let alone live here.  Even the guards won't come in here.  Still, some days I wonder if I chose the wrong path in life.  Never mind that, putting trust into other ponies only gets you back stabbed, I learned that a long time ago.  I went outside, I needed supplies and that means risking my neck in town.  Upon arrival it seems everypony was outside, I couldn't just go into town so i waited for a victim to ambush.  I seen one and walked up to her, turning on my charisma.

“Hello ma'am.” I said to the mare.

The mare seemed scared, perhaps I was too quick in the approach.  Something about this mare drew me in but I couldn't figure out what.

“Sorry if I scared you, I just wanted to ask you something.” I claimed.

“You did kind of scare me.” replied the mare.

This mare, she has the look of someone that was hurt by others, like somepony she trusted stabbed her in the back, like I was.

“Is something wrong?” asked the mare.

I don't know what came over me but I felt connected to this mare.  I found myself confessing everything to her.  This startled her.  What startled me is what happened next.

“But you don't look like a bad pony to me.” claimed the mare.

Before I could respond I heard galloping, some guards were coming after me so I bolted into the air and after some maneuvering got away from them and landed on a rooftop.  To my surprise the mare followed me.  After some explaining she spoke up.

“What will you do now?” asked the mare.

“Well, I don't know.  I'm want to end my career as a criminal but I can't, I'm in too far deep.  I'm too bad of a pony.” I explained.

“But I believe you are a good pony at heart sir.” said the mare.

Before I could protest I felt the mares lips on mine.  I embraced her fully.

“I don't think I got your name.” I said.

“Claire.” answered the mare.

“I'm Quick Strike.” I said.

After a hoof shake I sighed.

“Why do you stay by me?  You know how terrible I am.” I said.

“But I can sense you have a good heart, we mares have an instant for that.  You just need somepony you can trust.” said Claire.

“Which is exactly what I knew the whole time.” replied a familiar voice.

I turned to the source of the voice and my heart skipped a beat.

“Azure?!  Kids?!  What... how... why...” I stuttered.

“Quick Strike, I may be naive at time but tell me something.  Did you not find it odd that I came alone on that day as opposed to calling the guards?” asked Azure Thief.

“You're a vigilant anti, of course you would.” I replied.

“Oh Quick Strike, surely you remember teaching me.  Even I wouldn't come to you unprepared if I didn't think you had a good heart.” replied Azure Thief.

“Good heart?!  Azure, I used you, lied to you, figuratively stabbed you in the back, literally stabbed you in the back, and for Celestias sake I bucking rapped you.  How in Equestria could you possibly say I have a good heart.” I snapped.

“Because, I got to know you a lot better than you intended while I was being trained.  You were broken by many bad ponies and were led to believe that was the only way.  You always wished there was another way.” replied Azure Thief.

I was shocked as to how calm she was.  So cunning and yet I was confused.

“How could you know that last part?  I never said that.” I asked.

“You talk in your sleep, plus spending so much time with you allowed me to know you in a deeper manner.  I can read you like a book.  Honestly I'm glad somepony was able to bring out your good side, I always knew I couldn't.” said Azure Thief.

“You mean me?” asked Claire.

“Yes you Claire.  You take care of him ok?” replied Azure Thief.

Claire looked at me and blushed.  I used to say that love was a lie but this feeling.  I can't describe it.

“Before you two love birds have some fun I think a couple foals need to meet their dad.” suggested Azure Thief.

I looked at the foals and couldn't help but smile.

“Quick Strike, meet our foals, Sapphire Thief and Quick Eye.” introduced Azure Thief.

“Hello.” I greeted.

“Daddy?” asked Quick Eye.

“Daddy, it's so nice to finally see you.” said Sapphire Thief.

I gave them a big hug, I never thought being vindicated would feel so grand.

“Azure Thief, I'm so sorry for everything.  I promise I'll so everything I can to help raise our foals.” I said.

“Actually Quick Strike, all I want is for you to visit every few days.  Me and Lavaliere can handle things.  Besides, you have a mare you be with.” replied Azure Thief.

“Mis Claire, thank you for helping my daddy become good again.” said Sapphire Thief.

“Now then, we need to get going before a little runt here soils him self again.” said Azure Thief.

As Azure took her leave I turned to Claire.  Before I could do anything she had planted a huge kiss on my muzzle.  I embraced her, this was the best day ever.  I invited her to my place and treated her to dinner.  It was late so she stayed at my place for the night.  We slept in separate beds having only met though I would have loved to get in bed with her and, well you know.

In the morning I was downstairs fixing breakfast.  I learned she had mechanical legs and I helped her get a couple bolts back in place.  She slipped on some socks to hide the mechanical components of her legs.  I also learned her father tried to make her an alicorn by using magic to create a horn but it failed which explains her large bald spot.  I sensed she was nervous about me learning this so I promptly kissed her on said bald spot, it worked.

After that, me and Claire lived happily, I kept my word and we visited Azure and the kids every few days.  The kids really liked it when I came.  Azure Thief was relieved at me coming to me senses.  Lavaliere was skeptical but after agreeing to wear a bracelet that allowed magical tracking for a few months, she warmed up to me.  I'm proud of many tings here, Azures courage, my foals oddly high maturity for their age, and Claires beauty.
