A MLP Christmas

Twilight Sparkle has just finished putting the final touch for the Hearth Warming Eve decorations.  After several hours she is finally ready to visit her friends to celebrate the holiday.

"Are you done yet or are you going to adjust everything for the millionth time?" asked Spike.

"You don't understand Spike, the princesses are coming this year." explained Spike.

"You know Twilight, has it ever occurred to you that maybe they really mean it when they say it's an informal visit?" asked Spike.

Twilight turned to Spike, ready to lecture him when she hears a noice from another room.  Peeking over, she sees Sunset Shimmer coming out of the portal and galloping toward her only to fall flat on her face.

"Sunset, are you ok?" asked Twilight.

"Yeah, it's been a long time since I walked onfour legs.  Anyway, Merry Christmas." said Sunset Shimmer.

Twilight tilted her head.

"Christmas?" said Twilight.

"Yeah, Christmas." said Sunset Shimmer.

Twilight and Spike looked at each other and back to Sunset Shimmer, both has a confused look on their face.

"Ok, so what is this Christmas exactly?" asked Twilight.

Sunset Shimmers jaw dropped.

"You don't know what Christmas is?" asked Sunset Shimmer.

"Well no, and I don't think we had that when you were Celestias student either." said Twilight.

"Oh yeah, it's been a long time." admitted Sunset Shimmer.

After a rather awkward moment Sunset Shimmer get's an idea.

"I know, I'll show you what Christmas is." suggested Sunset Shimmer.

Sunset Shimmer immediately grabs Twilight and pulls her towards the portal, trips and both land flat on their faces.

"Better let me." suggested Twilight.

"Can I come?" asked Spike.

"Sorry Spike, we need you to stay here and let me know if the Princesses arrive while I'm away." said Twilight.

Spike pouted.

"Oh fine." said Spike.

Twilight and Sunset Shimmer left for the portal leaving Spike alone.

"Who?" said Owlicious.

"Not in the mood Owlicious." said Spike.

"Who?" repeated Owlicious.

"I said not in the mood." said Spike.

Spike walked outside and sighed, Twilight always let him go with her to that world, why not now?  Of course Spike knew he had to wait for the princesses in case they came while Twilight was away but it wasn't fair.

"You know what?  I'm going to spend time with Rarity." thought Spike.

That thought was short lived as when Spike arrives at the Carousel Boutique, Spike found that it was closed a note said that Rarity and Sweetie Belle were at their parents.

“So much for that.” whispered Spike.

Spike wandered around town, looking for something to do.  He helped Derpy put up lights, Berry Pinch get her drunk mother back home, and various other tasks for other ponies.  After a few hours he returns to the castle to see a chariot there.

“Uh oh.” said Spike.

Spike rushed into the castle to see Celestia, Luna, and Cadence inside.  After a quick greeting they sat down and Spike explained what's going on.

“Sounds like Twilight is having fun then.” said Celestia.

“Phew, it looks like they aren't mad.” thought Spike.

Luna looks around.

“We keep telling Twilight that this is an informal visit, do we keep leaving out the in part or something?” asked Luna.

“No, Twilight is just being Twilight.” answered Spike.

Cadence giggled at that.

“Some thing never change.” said Cadence.

The four of them laughed at that.  They then discussed plans for Hearth Warming Eve when Spike remembered that he was supposed to get Twilight.  Before he could say something, Twilight comes back from the portal laughing.

“That was so fun, Christmas is so much like Hearth Warming Eve.” said Twilight.

“Sounds like you had fun Twilight.” said Celestia.

“Princess?!  When did you get here?” asked Twilight.

“An hour ago.” answered Celestia.

Twilight apologized several times before Celestia calmed her down.

“Spike, you were supposed to get me if the princesses came.” complained Twilight.

“Sorry Twilight.” said Spike.

“Why don't you tell us about this Christmas?” asked Luna.

Twilight sat down and talked about Christmas extensively.

“HEY EVERYPONY!” shouted Pinkie Pie.

“When did you get in here?” asked Twilight.

“Just a minute ago.” said Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie Pie looks at Twilight closely.

“Let me guess, you were celebrating a holiday called Christmas that has a ton in common with Hearth Warming Eve?” guessed Pinkie Pie.

“How did... never mind, yes I was doing that.” said Twilight.

“What were you up to?” asked Spike.

“Well, I'll tell you but first...” began Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie looks at the readers much to the confusion of the princesses.

“Hey everypony, this is where the story ends ok?  Have a Merry Christmas.” said Pinkie Pie.
